Shady

On Saturday Ty & I enjoyed a day adventuring through Toronto.  With such beautiful weather there was no question we would spend our day outdoors.  With warm temperatures, budding trees and sunshine I couldn't help smile realizing that Spring was actually here.  My outfit of the day ended up looking super boho...channeling my inner Nicole Richie?! Maybe!  While exploring the city Ty and I ended up stopping in this amazing hat store on Queen St., Goorin Bros, where I picked up this floppy hat.  In my opinion, the perfect floppy hat is a Spring/Summer must have.  Not only does it protect you from the suns rays, it's also super stylish.  Will you be picking up a hat to add to your wardrobe this season?

Colour Blocking

There's something about the colour orange that keeps me coming back to it a lot this season.  I especially love to contrast it with colbalt blue. What colours are you mixing this Spring?

The Great Gatsby

When I first laid eyes on this stunning Great Gatsby spread in Vogue, I was head over heels swooning over it.  I couldn't resist sharing these beautiful images with you.  Are you greatly anticipating the debut of The Great Gatsby movie coming to theatres in only a couple weeks? I sure am!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  I spent most of mine Spring cleaning, watching the Junos and doing some stuff for the blog.  This is my last week in TO for a couple weeks so I'm sure it'll be quite hectic. I'm excited to be heading back home and to Vancouver for two whole weeks of jammed packed fun!  But more on that later.

There's something about wearing head to toe black with a string of classic pearls that screams Breakfast at Tiffany's.  This weekend I definitely felt I was channeling my inner "Holly Golightly".  When in doubt I always turn to an all black ensemble, it's truly a no fail.  And the fact that wearing all black is slenderizing doesn't hurt either.  What's your go to colour of choice?

Transition

When I saw a fellow blogger wearing this top, I went on a mad hunt through the various Zara's in TO to find it in my size.  I know, I could've just bought it online but I wanted it for an event on the day I had discovered it.  I love that it is a perfect transition piece from Winter to Spring combining neutrals and brights.  It's pretty much been my uniform lately.

On another note, I can't believe all the devastation that has gone on in Boston this week.  Boston is in my prayers.

Melijoe Fall/Winter '13

I am so excited to introduce you all to an amazing children's clothing company, Melijoe.  I had the privilege to attend a viewing of their Fall/Winter 2013 collections just recently and knew I had to show you all.  Melijoe is an e-tailer that carries designer label children's wear. After checking out the stunning pieces, I wished they were all made in my size! Evening Spring Brights

Do you ever purchase and item of clothing and think you can only wear it on a dressy occasion?  By simply pairing something dressy with the right pieces it's easy to dress it down.  I decided to dress down this colourful, fun skirt from Jacob for an evening out with friends.  By pairing it with flats and a casual top, it dresses down the skirt just enough.  Don't forget to add some great accessories to add a little something!  By wearing pieces in a dressy and casual way is a great way to make multiple use of pieces that you already have in your closet!

Mass Exodus 2013

I was super excited to be able to attend my very first Mass Exodus yesterday!  Mass Exodus showcases the talents of 4th year Ryerson University design students.  This year was the 25th year of this spectacular student run fashion event, which is the largest in North America.  I was simply blown away by the stunning designs! I was also so happy to see such diversity on the runway.  Wishing these talented designers all the best with their future careers. Can't wait to see what's next for each and everyone of them.  Here's a look at the incredible evening.
