Boxing Day Madness!

Good morning! I hope you all had or are still having a very happy holiday! I enjoyed Christmas with my family, it was great!  Santa also sure did spoil me.  Though I do love a day full of Christmas traditions, the day that follows, Boxing Day, is also full of tradition for me. Every year, since I can remember, my mom and I have got up early to hit the mall for Boxing Day deals.  We have so much fun searching and finding the good deals.  After a full day of shopping we ended up coming home with about 15 bags!  Here are a few of the goodies which came home with me.

Rose Gold & Pearl Mani

So I usually don't post on weekends, as you may have noticed, but I promised you all a nail tutorial so here it is!  Today I'll be demonstrating how I did my nails using decorative pearl gems.  Here is the supplies I used:
Nail Colour: Quo First Class
Clear Polish: Nicole Top Coat Plus
Nail Tool From Sephora Nail Art Set
Pearl Gems: Topshop (I was gifted these nail goodies for my birthday.  They came in a set with multiple nail polishes and 3 types of gems.)

Simply follow the steps below for my Rose Gold & Pearl Mani...
After filing, shaping and letting a clear coat dry apply two coats (or more if needed) of the colour of your choice.

On a flat plastic surface apply a bit of clear polish.  I used the lid of the gem container.  Place the pearls you plan to use on your working surface.  Now paint the nail you plan to apply the pearls on with clear polish.  While the nail is still wet, use your nail tool, dip the end in the clear polish and pick up pearl with it.  Apply the pearl to your nail in whichever type of patterned desired.  Repeat on each nail.

Apply a generous top coat over the gems and spread over the rest of your nail.  Let dry.

Your nails are complete! I only added pearls to my ring fingers but feel free to add them to the full nail or all nails for that matter.  Have fun with it!!

Skin & Hair Care Routine

Hey guys! So today is something new for the blog, a beauty post!  I'm excited to tell you how I take care of my skin & hair during the cold & dry winter months.  Skin & hair care is SO important, taking care of it is a must.  I'd prefer to avoid the wrinkles as long as I can.  Anyways, lets dive into it!

Top photo from left:
1) Falling in Love Perfume- I found this at Sephora.  It's a light scent which I love to spritz on everyday.
2) Reversa Micellar Solution: I was curious about micellar solutions and after asking my beauty expert friend about it I decided to try it.  It's a FANTASTIC product!  Simply apply to a cotton pad and it gently removes all makeup.  After using it your skin feels so soft and smooth.
3) Prevage Eye: This is a sample of eye cream my mom gave me.  I've only started to use it but so far I find it very moisturizing for under the eyes.
4) Surface Trinity Protein Cream & Surface Bassu Hydrating Oil:  Both of these hair products are a MUST year round.  My hairdresser recommend me use them and thanks to her amazing hair colour/cutting talents and these products my hair is healthy and growing again.  Simply apply these two products to damp hair or add a little to your dry hair on non wash days.  You will notice a huge difference!!

Bottom photo from left:
1) Lush Almond & Coconut Smoothie: Not only does this stuff smell AMAZ, it makes your skin feel SO smooth.  Simply apply in the shower and rinse off.  [I recently became Lush product obsessed...this is just one of many Lush products I simply adore.]
2) eos Lip Balm: If you haven't tried these lip balms, do it, RIGHT NOW! They are a great product which leave your lips feeling moisturized.
3) Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion: I love this product, I use it day & night to keep my face silky smooth.  It doesn't smell, which I like and it doesn't leave your face feeling oily.
4) Lucas' Papaw Ointment:  This stuff seriously works miracles. My friend who had traveled to Australia told me about it.  Before last year she didn't know you could buy it online but once she found it a bunch of friends and I made a mass order.  I like to use it on my lips for ultra moisture when they get dry in this winter weather.  Before I apply it I like to use Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub (not pictured) as a lip exfoliator.

Now go take care of that beautiful skin you have!

An Update...

...On my crazy busy life that is!  WELCOME BACK! Sorry I've been away for awhile, my busy schedule had me consumed.  Not only were finals going on for the past couple weeks, I was also preparing to go home for the holidays, which is where I am now, back in Saskatchewan.  With a little break from school I'm finally able to do a little catching up on the blog and my life in general.

So I was super excited to do a bunch of outfit posts coming up but with temperatures hanging around the -15 degrees celsius point, it's not looking possible to do outdoors meaning I will have to relocate indoors. I find photos indoors just don't have the same appeal as the ones outside.  I will try my best to think up a solution.  Meanwhile I have some other fun stuff coming up for the blog this week, including my very first nail tutorial!  If you follow me on Instagram you'll know my love of nails.  I like to express myself using bold colours, sparkles and fun nail accessories.  But enough of that, here's the past couple weeks summed up in Instagram photos...ENJOY!
(1) Custom holiday label made by MWDesigns (2) Trying out some new makeup (3) Christmas nails! (4) Playing with the Santa Hat App while avoiding studies.  Clearly a good idea... (5) Relaxing in my Christmas PJ's on a Sunday morning (6) A nice "at home" selfie (7) Even when things get crazy it's important to take care of your health and keep fit.  Off to the gym I go! (8) My family dog, Tuffy, being a lazy bum (9) More sparkly nails, of course (10) A new goodie I picked up at a craft show...more on that later!

Happy MONDAY!

Sare's Christmas Tea

Hey guys! I'm excited to tell you I'm going to be adding a few additions to the blog!  I figure I need to fill you all in on other things I enjoy doing here in the city.  I do love fashion and it will still remain a fundamental part of the blog, so don't worry that won't be going away...but more on that later.  Today I'd like to start off the new additions with my Christmas Tea.  So usually Starbucks sucks me right in...their drinks are just so darn tasty.  But to save some money I came up with my own Christmas bevy I can make right at home.  It's pretty simple and very tasty!  Here are the steps to Sare's Christmas Tea!

You will need:
-a kettle
-a mug
-cinnamon
-chai tea (I prefer Lipton's Spiced Cinnamon Chai)
-egg nog
-a spoon

Now simply start boiling water, fill your mug 1/4 full of egg nog and put one tea bag in the mug.  Once your water has boiled pour the water in the mug, sprinkle with cinnamon, stir and ENJOY!

Do you have any Christmas time bevy favourites?

Birthday Bliss via Instagram

I had such a fantastic weekend celebrating my birthday!  I feel so blessed to have such amazing friends and family in my life.  For my birthday I decided to wear a dress I had purchased back in the fall from H&M, which I was saving for my birthday.  I love the bright pink colour!  Whoever said red heads can't wear pink is crazy...if you feel you can rock it you sure can.
Thanks to all my friends and family for the lovely wishes, gifts and for making my day so special.
