Sock Bun Tutorial

Happy Wednesday!  Hope your week is going fabulously so far!  So I thought I'd do a beauty post for you guys as beauty is one of my favourite parts of the fashion industry...nails, hair, makeup you name it, I love it!  Today I will be demonstrating my take on the sock bum.  It's one of my go to hairstyles as it's simple and can make you look put together in a matter of a couple minutes.  If you have any questions following the demonstration don't hesitate to ask in the comments below.

What you will need:

Brush & Comb (not pictured)

Bobby Pins

Hair Spray (my go to is TRESemme's Extra Firm Control)

Sock Bun (mine is from Aldo)

 Step 1: Brush your hair back into a high pony.

 Step 2: Put sock bun around pony.

 Step 3: Evenly distribute hair around sock bun.

 Step 4: Wrap hair around the sock bun evenly.  Make sure you cannot see the sock bun, just hair!

 Step 5: Pin hair firmly in place using bobby pins.

 Step 6: Spray bun in place & those fly-aways.

Your sock bun is complete!  Enjoy!

Weekend Casual

Hey guys! Hope your weekends were all nice & relaxing.  Did you catch the Academy Awards?  I'm a sucker for the red carpet prior to the awards, so many beautiful gowns & suits.  This weekend I spent in some pretty casual gear including my favourite wedged sneakers.  If I could have a pair in every colour I would.

Neutrals

Hey guys!! So I just got home last night from such a nice weekend at home.  It was short but sweet.  Today I'm busy getting back into the swing of things.  Though I'm spending the majority of my day at home getting organized, tonight I'm heading out for drinks with a friend.  I decided today would be a perfect day for neutrals, not to overdone but not underdressed.  And if you haven't noticed (because my hair is going crazy in the wind) over the weekend I went from all over red to ombre red hair.  Its the best!

New In

Hey guys!  Here are a few of my newest purchases after a weekend of shopping with my mom in TO.  I love all the bright colours, makes me feel like Spring is just around the corner.

Valentines Day- Day to Night

Happy Valentines Day!  Valentines is all about the ones you love, so make sure to let them all know how much! Though some of you may be going on dates with your signifcant others, some of you may be simply spending time with your besties or family.  This being said, not everyone will be wearing the same type of outfit.  This is why I decided to give you two outfit ideas, one more casual for day and one more dressy for night outfit.  With Valentines being the day of my favourite colours, red and pink, of course I needed to incorporate them into my outfits.  Hope you enjoy!

Gaga for Gaga!

Hey guys! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  Over the weekend my mom visited.  We had so much fun tiering up the shops in the Eaton Centre as well as up on Bloor St.  I sure got some goodies that I'll have to show you guys later this week.  Not only did we enjoy shopping and each others company, we were lucky to attend Lady Gaga's amazing concert.  This is what we wore.  Obviously, I didn't keep things subtle, big and bold! Well, other than my shoes...had to keep things pretty simple as all the salt on the sidewalks is ruining anything not black leather on my feet.  Overall, this weekend was a total BLAST!  For more pictures from the weekend make sure to check out my instagram or twitter at sarebellamy.  Now off to piles of homework I go...
