Trust the Road Ahead

Over the past few years I've learned various life lessons, many of which were learned in the most difficult ways possible.  Through these difficult times I've learned in life it's important to trust that when the answer is no, there's a better yes down the road--what's meant to be will be.  You've got to trust the road ahead.
You know how I love my neutral colours but, I can't resist a great pop of colour.  I couldn't help but add the perfect pops of hot pink to this casual boho outfit.  I'm especially lusting over these fabulous pink UGG wedges I scooped up early Spring on sale.  They are just the right amount of pretty pink & total chicness.
Note: Please ignore my hideous tan lines via sunning all Canada Day.  I didn't realize how bad they were until I was uploading these images to my computer.  Oops!
Wearing: Vest from Macy's, Wedges [UGG]--similar here, Top [American Eagle Outfitters], Jeans old but similar here, Free Spirit Bracelet from Anex, Lip Colour [MAC], Necklace [Forever 21].

I hope this weekend's path leads you to many moments of happiness!

Boho Babe

Hey Lovelies.  I hope you are having a beautiful week.  I am currently back home in Saskatchewan once again for a few days before heading back to Toronto at the end of the week.  While I'm home, I'm eager to be attending the much anticipated Saskatchewan Fashion Week, starting tomorrow!  Fashion, friends and tasty bevy's; what could be better?
In the mean time, this is a cozy boho look I wore back in Cincinnati.  The weather was SO beautiful on this particular day I couldn't resist wearing my new pants and crop top combo paired with these STUNNING Alexandra Jewellery earrings--the pop of texture is perfect for this look.  Overall it was a fun look for a beautiful day.
Wearing: Earrings [Alexandra Jewellery] c/o, Pants [Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren], Top [American Rag], Sandals old but similar here and Necklace similar here.

Photos thanks to my Mom

City Girl on the Go

A couple of weekends ago I had the pleasure of having one of my good friends, Tia (and her hubby) visit Ty and I in the city.  Tia joined me on my Friday routine of classes and doing my errands around the city.  While running around, Tia insisted we do impromptu photos in the rain.  It was fun to shoot photos totally at random, they truly display my life as a city girl on the go.
Along with my neutral ensemble I added some pops of colour to cheer up the gloomy day.  I'm especially obsessed with my pink Ban.do heart pin.  Every time I wear it I get about a zillion compliments.

Black & Blue

Black and blue can be a tricky colour combo.  I feel like for years people always used to say that if you ever wore a deep blue with black it was a total fashion faux pas.  Some people may still think that.  But for some reason, right now, I'm totally obsessed with this colour combo.  Would you consider this colour combo breaking the rules?
[Totally in love with my monogram ring I recently dug out of my jewelry box!!  I had it made when I was eight.]
Wearing: Top [Zara], Watch [Michael Kors] similar & also love this one, Scarf [Le Chateau] similar, Pants [Zara], Flats [Marc by Marc Jacobs] same but in gold, Necklace old, Bag [Coach] similar.

Back to School

Ahhh...it's already that time of year again, back to school.  As I embark on another year in the school of fashion, I kept things neutral for my first day back.  There's just something so wonderful about these warm tones which feel like the perfect transition into the new school year & Fall season.  Also, I'm currently digging all types of hats, I can't get enough of them!  I'm sure you'll be seeing more of them on me in the future weeks.
Wearing: Dress old, Cardigan [Lord & Taylor] love this one, Bracelets [J.Crew] & [Kate Spade], Hat from Coda (Regina) also love this one, Sandals old, Bag from my mothers closet.

Photos thanks to Qunshuo Ma.

...A Little Update

While visiting home this past weekend I had the opportunity to work with a dynamic team shooting some great Fall looks featuring some fantastic Regina retailers!  Here's a fun photo Tia Getzlaf (formally Zelinski) took behind the scenes.  What a blast we had!  Can't wait to show you more from my fab experience in the near future.

Have a fabulous day!  Thanks so much for stopping by,

Jersey Dress

Hey lovelies!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  This past weekend I rocked a trend I definitely didn't think I ever would, the jersey dress.  I was a little sceptical at first because rocking a sweat shirt type dress isn't that easy.  But with the right accessories I think this trend is totally fun.  They key to success with a jersey dress is dressy accessories, load on the bling and put on those jazzy heels.  What do you think of the jersey dress trend?  Will you be rocking it this Fall?
Wearing: Dress [Zara], Sunnies not online [Zara], Pave Link Bracelet [J. Crew], Bangle in another colour [J. Crew], Heels in black & snake skin [Zara].

Have a great start to the week,

In the School Yard

Blogging is all about having fun, showing off your personality, and that's exactly what I'm doing on todays post!  Ty and I had some fun shooting these photos in a local school yard the other day in this flirty ensemble.  As you can see, I'm not quite ready to give up the light summery fabrics & colours just yet for the Fall ones.
Wearing: Top old [Forever 21], Skirt [Zara], Shoes thrifted, Necklace similar [Simply You], Sunnies not online [Zara].

HAPPY WEEKEND!

#getzlafwedding

Last week I spent in California celebrating the marriage of Tia & Chris.  If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen the #getzlafwedding hashtag all over my photos.  This wedding was so special.  It included a very intimate atmosphere where an outdoor ceremony took place followed by a poolside dinner & celebration to follow. Every detail of the day was so special.  The bride, Tia, allowed each of the bridesmaids to pick our own dresses.  It was so nice that we were each able to display our own style and feel comfortable.  And in the end, the dresses all came together so beautifully.  It was the most beautiful, unique, special day, so full of love.  Thank you to Chris & Tia for having me be a part of your special day, I will never forget the memories made.  Here is a look at the special day via my camera.
