Girl on the Go

Hey lovelies! If you are still here, despite the dust bunnies rolling around Sare in the City, thank you for staying tuned!  I have a ton to update you on!  First off, school has been just crazy.  7 classes in one semester, I don’t recommend it.  But I’m getting through and learning  a lot.  Secondly, for awhile there I had a lack of creative juices flowing.  I bought about 10 magazines, watched a bunch of old films and luckily they saved me and got my creative self back up to par.  Sidenote…I recently did the art direction and photography for a photoshoot and I can’t wait to show you guys the images…they are insane!  Everything from the model to scenery to wardrobe and the overall whole team…everyone just rocked it!  Lastly, I have been using a lot of my spare time to work on my fitness.  Working out has been such a great outlet for me although sometimes I get carried away when my 1 hour work out exceeds 2 hours.  Oh well, you know I am doing something good for my health and wellbeing.  Anyways, that pretty much sums up my life over the past month.  You are all caught up.

Today’s outfit is simply a few of my current go to pieces.  A combination of comfort and style is key for a busy city girl on the go.  That’s why I find it key to have a few great statement pieces such as this coat/sweater/whatever it is that I recently picked up from H&M.  I seriously throw it on over anything.  And although at a glance it slightly looks like a housecoat…I still think it’s just great.

Thanks for stopping by!

Backyard

As the Fall season quickly approaches, I am taking as much spare time as possible to enjoy the last of the warm summer sunshine.  I am very fortunate that this summer I was able to spend much of my time outdoors in my very own backyard.  With lots of green space and a small body of water behind the house, what more gorgeous scenery could I ask for? Yesterday I enjoyed my backyard in one of my favourite summer pieces.  This white maxi with delicate detailing accessorized with a dainty layered necklace, I picked up on my NYC travels.  How are you enjoying the last of the summer days?

A New Leaf

Hey lovelies! Wow, has it been awhile or what?! This summer has been a bit crazy for me.  I have been going through some big personal life changes and unfortunately something had to give, and that something was the blog.  My leave of absence was extended a lot longer then intended.  As much as I'd love to pour my heart out to you all about this roller coaster like summer, I figure it's best to just start this new leaf in my life expressing one of my greatest passions, fashion.  Hope you guys enjoy this look and thank you so much for sticking around and catching up with me on Sare in the City!  I'm so excited to be back!

Statement

There is no doubt that I love being able to find pieces that make a statement all on their own.  When I found this stunning romper I was super ecstatic as it's one of those pieces--everything from the fit, pattern and cute back create a fab outfit.  There are no worries when it comes to matching it with other pieces besides a few fun accessories.  I'm sure I'll be wearing this easy piece many times this summer on those days when I'm in a rush to get out the door.

Nevada

Sunshine and sundresses go perfectly hand in hand.  When I received this flirty Nevada dress from Bootlegger's Temperance Collection I couldn't wait to prance around in it.  So yesterday when we were enjoying some beautiful sunshine in the city, my girlfriends and I decided to spend a little time in the park visiting and taking photos.  It was the perfect way to spend the early afternoon.  It's amazing how many beautiful parks there are in this concrete jungle, it's one of the things I love so much about this city.  What's your favourite park to visit in your city?

Summer Sweet Daze

Hey lovelies!  Life has been on a bit of a whirlwind as of late.  I feel like I'm in somewhat of a summer sweet daze.  I know, it's not officially summer but with hot temps & some pretty heavy humidity, I can't help but think summer has already arrived.  Speaking of which, the days have been flying by, I still can't believe we are already half way through 2014.
I've been trying to repeat many of my favourite summer pieces lately by putting them together in as many different ways as possible.  This crochet top has been one of my favourite repeat pieces--I've worn it over a dress, over/underneath tops or simply with a bralette underneath.  Versatile pieces like these are definitely the best way to get the most bang for your buck.  Do you wear your favourite pieces in versatile ways or do you stick to one way of wearing them?

Live Free

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen that over the past few days I made a very last minute, spontaneous trip home to the prairies.  Those days at home were some of the best I've had in a long time.  I was able to get away from the stresses in life and enjoy the simple things; swinging on a swing, walking barefoot, picnics in the park and singing/dancing like no ones watching.  Those simple activities reminded me of the things I take forgranted on a daily basis.  I am thankful for this time away as now I feel my heart is bursting with love and happiness!  It goes to show that true bliss can come from simply letting go of your struggles and just living freely.

Don't Quit Your Daydream

When life gets crazy, it can be difficult to take the time to enjoy the things you're passionate about.  A beautiful shoot in a blooming Toronto park reminded me to not quit my daydream--always make the time for the little things in life that make me happy.  I hope this weekend you take the time to do something that makes your wild heart happy.
