Mermaid Style Inspiration

As I scroll through my Pinterest feed, there is no doubt I am inspired by the ton of mermaid type style inspiration.  So with a little inspiration and my own spin on things I bring to you my take on mermaid style.  As much as it would've been fun to make this a totally whimsical outfit, I decided to keep things on more of a practical side by toning down the brights of the water-like romper and pastels of the mani/rings/dip dyed hair with some bold black accessories.  I'm totally lusting over these black gladiator sandals.  They have sure been a topic of conversation in my life.  I can't go out in public wearing them without getting a lot of looks & receiving many comments--my favourite so far being "So how long does it take you to put those on in the morning?"  I would love to see your take on the mermaid trend--be sure to tag me on FB, Twitter and/or Instagram!

Summer Essentials

The official days of summer are only a sweet day away.  With this in mind, to kick off summer I decide to put together a few pieces that I would consider as summer essentials--a chambray button up, white lace shorts, fine gold jewlery and a strappy block heel.  I love how these simple pieces look so summery and put together all so easily.  What pieces do you consider as summer essentials?

Nevada

Sunshine and sundresses go perfectly hand in hand.  When I received this flirty Nevada dress from Bootlegger's Temperance Collection I couldn't wait to prance around in it.  So yesterday when we were enjoying some beautiful sunshine in the city, my girlfriends and I decided to spend a little time in the park visiting and taking photos.  It was the perfect way to spend the early afternoon.  It's amazing how many beautiful parks there are in this concrete jungle, it's one of the things I love so much about this city.  What's your favourite park to visit in your city?

Summer Sweet Daze

Hey lovelies!  Life has been on a bit of a whirlwind as of late.  I feel like I'm in somewhat of a summer sweet daze.  I know, it's not officially summer but with hot temps & some pretty heavy humidity, I can't help but think summer has already arrived.  Speaking of which, the days have been flying by, I still can't believe we are already half way through 2014.    

I've been trying to repeat many of my favourite summer pieces lately by putting them together in as many different ways as possible.  This crochet top has been one of my favourite repeat pieces--I've worn it over a dress, over/underneath tops or simply with a bralette underneath.  Versatile pieces like these are definitely the best way to get the most bang for your buck.  Do you wear your favourite pieces in versatile ways or do you stick to one way of wearing them?

City in Bloom

It's so great to be back in Toronto just in time to see the city in bloom!  Yesterday a couple of my girlfriends and I adventured Queen West area and took some time to enjoy the city.  After a crazy couple weeks of studying, traveling, events and a brief moment with the flu, it was nice to take some time to just relax and enjoy. This fun day couldn't be complete without prancing around in the beautiful blooming park in my favourite old graphic tee and a fun-flirtly pink skirt!  I think taking time to make sure you are happy and do the things you love is the best thing anyone can do for themselves.  Do something today that makes you happy!

Statement Earrings

Hey lovelies!  I'm super excited to be teaming up with the beautiful Jacqueline of Stylin in St. Louis today to bring you our take on a current trend, statement earrings.  For me, my go to for statement piece is typically a statement necklace, but I'm loving this change of pace with the statement earring.  It really glams up any outfit!  What's your opinion on this current trend?

On Repeat

Hey lovelies! So I think it's safe to say that I'm in love with this skirt-boot combo, it's currently on repeat in my wardrobe.  

This past weekend I had a blast at home in Saskatchewan!  The wedding festivities I had the privilege to attend were so much fun!  It was also so great seeing so many friends I hadn't seen in ages.  I am back to Toronto though for a bit and ever so thankful for the warm(er) weather.  Seriously, when the windchill gets to minus 45 degrees Celsius, it's not fun.  Stay warm my friends!

Birthday Attire

Hey lovelies!! This past weekend was my birthday and it was a whole lot of FUN--shopping by day and celebrating by night, perfection!  While shopping, I stumbled upon this fab skirt & flannel, which was on sale, it was impossible to resist.  The pair made a fab birthday outfit!  I'm also totally into these riding boots, now is the perfect time with no snow…well just yet.
