Golden Glitter

Hey Lovelies!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  If you haven't stopped by the blog since last week, you may have noticed a few changes and a new URL, www.sareinthecity.com!  Thank you to my dear friend Kelsey for the most beautiful logo, isn't it fantastic?

I often get questions about when the right time to wear tulle or sequins is.  A lot of people think that these fun textiles are only for formal occasions.  I firmly believe one should wear what makes them happy.  If you feel like wearing sequins to do your grocery shopping, do it!  Don't wait to wear one of your favourite pieces for a formal occasion.  Life is short--do what makes you happy! Speaking of sequins, Ty gifted me this gorgeous sequin top for Christmas.  So beautiful, right?  How great is my man?!

A Little Lace and a Update

Hey lovelies! Sorry for not blogging sooner but due to moving, packing for a vaca/besties wedding in Cali and not having internet (I'm currently coming to you via Starbucks), it has been quite difficult.  Talk about craziness & so much excitement!

There is no doubt that I am a lover of lace & sparkle.  There is something about the two textures that makes me feel so lady like.  I feel like this outfit would’ve been so cute to wear for brunch or to a tea but I just wore it for a day in the city.  Sometimes it's just nice to dress up with no where to go.

As Ty and I are off to Cali tomorrow, I won't be back to the blog until Monday, August 5th!  But stay tuned for all the fun details from our adventures.

Sparkles For Day

I am a huge fan of sparkle, whether it's on a piece of jewelry or a garment.  I find that a lot of people shy away from sparkle thinking it's only for special occasions.  I say be adventurous and wear that sparkle.  Trust me, you'll be glad you did.  You always feel so much better when you are loving what you're wearing and what girl doesn't love wearing some sparkle?  I wore this last outfit last week for lunch with a friend.  I kept things on the more casual side by pairing this sequin top with flats and my fav boyfriend shorts.

Today my mom and brother are flying to the city to visit me, I'm SO excited to spend some time with them!  I will be cherishing every moment with them...and probably hugging them 10 times a day.  While they are here we will be celebrating my mom's birthday, she's a July 4th baby!  Often, our family would travel to the states for her birthday because there was always something fun going on on her big day.  This year, I have some fun things planned for her here in Toronto...but more on that later.

Weekend Wear

Nothing says weekend like the perfect pair of jean shorts.  In the summer I am usually more of a skirt kind of girl but when I stumbled upon these boyfriend style shorts at Gap, I had to have them.  They  are the perfect length, fit and shade for the summer months.
