Ask Sare: Wavy Hair Tutorial

Hey Lovelies! As per request, I'm bringing you my Wavy Hair Tutorial for this week's Ask Sare.  This is how I do my hair most days.  I love that it doesn't take long and I didn't have to go out and buy a new hair tool, I simply used the curling iron I already had.
Here's what you'll need: Curling iron (the dimensions depend on how large of waves you'd like, the larger the barrel, the looser the wave), a wide toothed comb and hair spray!
Step 1: Start with clean natural hair.  Feel free to add some mouse to start if you'd like.
Step 2: After lifting the leaver, grab a small section of hair and wrap it around the iron, away from the face.
Step 3: Once hair is all wrapped around, hold for about 20 seconds.  (Do not let down the leaver, hold while hair sits on the heat.) Repeat steps 2-3 to all of your hair.
Step 4: Once all hair is waved, gently use pick to loosen waves.
 Step 5: Spray in place!
Your waves are now complete!  If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

Photos thanks to my Mom

Thanks for reading,
Sare

Ask Sare: Current Beauty Favourites

Hi Lovelies!  You have been asking about some of my current beauty favourites--so I decided to narrow it down to my top 5.  Hopefully you can find this post useful.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
I was recently back on the market for a new foundation.  After a while of using the same product, I think it's good to change it up.  One of my girl friends recommended me try this BB cream by Tarte.  I tried a sample before I bought and at first, I wasn't so sure about its texture.  After a couple uses, I was hooked.  I like that it doesn't feel super heavy, one layer is great for day but it's build-able coverage is great for when I need more coverage.  [My skin is combination.]
In the winter months, you can't help but load on the lip balm.  I am currently loving this Nivea balm, its soft and the scent is super nice.

Well, I am obsessed with the entire Fresh skin care line.  I was gifted this face oil for Christmas and I'm really liking it.  I feel like it hydrates my skin that extra amount it needs in these dryer months.  [If you guys ever wanted to hear more about the line, let me know and I can do a post on it.]
This MAC eyelash curler, I could NOT live without.  My eyelashes are awful, when natural, they actually somewhat curl down--seriously, it's the WORST!  Needless to say, an eyelash curler is my BEST friend.  I really like the curling power of this one.  A little extra tip for those of you who were blessed with eyelashes like mine, heat up the eyelash curler a bit (test on your hand before using by your eyelashes) with a blowdryer, then curl.  It definitely speeds up the curling process.

Because my eyelashes are so straight, they require very particular mascara.  I have only ever found 3 (including this one) that I've ever liked.  This one, by Too Faced, is by far my favourite.  Thanks to this mascara, my eyelashes have never looked so good.  Like the BB cream, this mascara is very build-able.  One or two layers for day and build up a few more for larger then life eyelashes for night.

Have a fabulous weekend darlings,
XO

Ask Sare: Dressing a Pear Shaped Body

Hey Lovelies!  Welcome to another Ask Sare.  I am excited to be hearing more questions from you lately.  For this week's Ask Sare, a reader was curious about the best way to disguise a larger bottom on a pear shaped body.
The outfit I styled was inspired by the idea of focusing on the waist, which for a pear shaped body I find most important.  It draws the eyes to the smallest part of your body, instead of the largest.  Whether it's a high waisted skirt/pants (like these photos), a belt detailing at the waist or a fit and flare dress, these are my favourite ways to extenuate the smallest part on a pear shaped body.  Here are some other guidelines for dressing a pear shape: keep bolder patterns for the top, statement necklaces are a great way to draw the attention up from your hips and clean lines are always best for bottoms.
[Drawing attention to the waist with the fitted dark waistband.]
[Statement necklaces & ruffles near the face are a great way to draw the eye up.]

Wearing: Coat [Banana Republic] similar, Shirt gifted, Necklace [J. Crew], Skirt [Phillip Lim x Target], Watch [Kate Spade], Shoes [Zara], Bag [Kate Spade] similar.

Have a fabulous weekend & keep sending me those questions!
